Many people love meat and especially in America that is undeniable. But how many people have considered where meat comes from and what other things besides meat are like meat? Well let’s start with the basics.
Meat comes from the place known as a slaughterhouse or as some may call it a butchery. The animals are decided they will be slaughtered to produce meat. The animal is then sent into the truck. The trip for the animals was exactly like the way the Jews were sent to prison camps by Nazis in World War II. Tight, packed, hard to breathe and merciless. After they arrive at the slaughterhouse, they are rounded up and sent to their pens. Then, a person called a butcher will come and slash the animal to death. Then the animal is dismembered and the edible parts are made into meat and shipped out to stores. That’s where you come in as the buyer and depending on your diet you will either put it in your bag or skip it. The rest of the leftovers are thrown away and deemed inedible.
Now some of you might be thinking, but what has protein in it besides meat? Isn’t meat the only source of protein Mr. Kishore? Well, there are other sources of protein besides meat. That includes beans, spinach, kale, tofu, cheese, yogurt, eggs, milk, soybeans, blackberries, avocados, apricots, bananas, oranges, peaches, raspberries, broccoli, sweet corn and those are a few of the vegetarian protein alternatives. There are many more.
Now, you’re probably wondering if you should be vegetarian or not. Well that choice is yours to make however, before doing this, ask your doctor. I did the same thing before converting to vegetarianism. Ask your doctor before you do this because your doctor might need to make sure you’re okay for this diet. I am not responsible for any deficiencies or any other health problems associated with this. If your doctor says yes, then you can make a choice of whether you want to be vegetarian or not. If your doctor says no, an alternative you can do is, give more respect to the animals that make meat. And next time, if you go to the supermarket and see meat, give love to the animals who got butchered in the process.
