Wattpad. To some people, that is absolute bliss, and to some, it is pure torture. But Wattpad is actually awesome. Some people think that it is only fanfiction but is it? NO! Wattpad is an app, that is completely free, where you can not only read but write as well. My personal Wattpad library, for instance, has books about secret agents (Protecting the President’s Son by KirstenMx) but also books about self-realization (The Hoodie Girl by yuenwrites). Of course, it also has the classic fanfiction books (People Meet Percabeth by carolinebyrd4).
Wattpad can open up your possibilities. More than 90 books that started out as free Wattpad books are now actual published books. Authors that started on Wattpad became huge successes. An example is Anna Todd, who started off writing One Direction fanfictions (they got over a million views on Wattpad), got a New York Times Bestseller series, After. Another famous example is Beth Reekles, who wrote The Kissing Booth which got a big movie deal with Netflix with big hits like Joey King and Molly Ringwald starring in it.
Wattpad can also help you get over your fangirl/boy sessions. Sometimes when my friends and I read the same Wattpad story, we connect because we can both fangirl about the same story or if we are reading different fanfictions but about the same people, we can both tell each other and it’s just really awesome to be able to talk to someone about all your guilty pleasures when they share them too!
Therefore, Wattpad is just awesome. Go download it (it’s a website as well and it is unlocked in school wifi so…)!
