Do you ever think about how lunches are shorter and we have to go outside even if it is freezing cold? That’s split lunches for you! Some may think split lunches maximize the lunchroom space and minimize noise level. In my opinion, this is unfair because we have less time to eat, we are forced to freeze outside, which can be harmful to our health and cannot produce enough body heat, and we can’t socialize with others, like the teachers are encouraging us to do.
The first reason why I don’t think split lunches is a good idea because we have less time to eat. We usually spend time to eat and have snacks. We can actually finish our food and not waste it. If we have less time, we will probably have to waste at least half our meal.
The second reason why I don’t think split lunches are a good idea is because we are forced to freeze outside, which can be harmful to our health and we cannot produce enough body heat. Sometimes we just forget to bring a jacket and we aren’t allowed to go back to our locker. Sometimes if we are cold, we get colds and possibly pneumonia or hypothermia.
The third reason why I don’t think split lunches is a good idea is because we can’t socialize with others, like the teachers are encouraging us to do. We like to chat with friends and create strong and long friendships. We bond together and support each other. When we are together, we feel happy and we feel pumped up. Our brain releases dopamine and serotonin so we feel happy and energized.
All in all, split lunches are not a good idea because we have less time to eat, we are forced to freeze outside, which can be harmful to our health and cannot produce enough body heat, and we can’t socialize with our friends, like the teachers are encouraging us to do.
