Mount Rainier is a volcano that is near Seattle and Tacoma. It is so tall being 14,410 feet above sea level! If you plan on going to Mount Rainier at anytime, I’m going to give you some tips when you go there. All of the information you need to know before you go!
First of all, let’s start off by just learning the basics of Mount Rainier. Mount Rainier is the most glaciated peak in the world. It located on top of the Juan De Fuca plate and the North American Plate. It is the highest mountain in the Cascade Ranges of the Pacific Northwest. Last but not the least, the most important thing you need to know before you go there is that Mount Rainier is one of our most dangerous volcanoes in the world.
Furthermore, let’s see when Mount Rainier was born and the when it erupted. Can you believe that Mount Rainier was born about 2,600 years ago! That is so long ago for us, but in volcano language that is a very short time. It erupted so many times in its lifetime of 2,600 years and its first eruption happened about that long ago. That is all about its eruptions!
Moreover, I will tell you a few ways you can predict that there will be a volcano if there is an eruption while you are on your wonderful trip there. If you notice a few earthquakes near the area you should consider looking out for an eruption. An eruption always begins with small ash explosions and steam so Mount Rainier does, too. If you are planning to stay there for a little longer than a few days then if you see a deformation of the volcano then you should evacuate because that signals that the volcano is going to erupt.
Who doesn’t want to know how to survive during harsh conditions or any dangerous condition? I know I want to! If there is an eruption you might want to know about where to go and what to do.In the Mount Rainier National Park, you have to look at the evacuation plan and escape information in case of an eruption. Also, you might want to move to a higher level of ground 160 feet above the water should be safe. Lastly, you should always look out for any volcano warning if you are near Seattle or Tacoma. See, if you listen to this, then be prepared to live longer because it will save your life.
You might be wondering why I am telling you all of these things! Imagine Mount Rainier doesn’t make that much of a destruction! This will just be a waste of time and then it won’t be valuable to read this. Mount Rainier makes a lot of destructions. Floods, lahars, landslide, pyroclastic flows, lava flows, and tephra fallout all come out of Mount Rainier when it erupts. Also avalanches, landslides, and floods can be triggered by the steam that comes out of the volcano when it is going to erupt. Guess what, Mount Rainier created the largest mudflow that the world has ever known! Lastly, Seattle and Tacoma are highly populated places, they have up to 3.2million people living there, it will erupt and then many people will die!!!!!! Now you know why I am spending all of this time trying to tell you all of the things I can to help save your life and everything you need to know about Mount Rainier.
