Improv, Comedy, and Movement Club: (Wednesday, Spring, D133)

Who over here likes to act? Well, this is something for you. In this club, you can learn acting tips, tricks, and insider techniques from Ms. Nordstrom. In this club, you might be able to pave the way for an acting future. It is just a place to get to know to think on your feet in a conversation. And people who love acting and have performed such things before, even though you might think this club is only for beginners, it is for all levels. So if you love acting, go for this club!

Digital Storytelling Club: (Tuesday, D146)

Do you want to be creative? Then welcome to Digital Storytelling. A club where In digital storytelling you will learn how to use digital resources including cameras and editing materials to create short videos. You are free to be creative while learning the steps of digital storytelling from Mr. Coppola. Don’t just be there dwelling, and join our DIGITAL STORYTELLING CLUB.

KIVA Club: (Tuesday, E143)

This club loans money to aspiring businessmen and women in the developing world. This is generally called microfinance. Using the website , people in this club will get to identify people and communities around the world who need small amounts of money to help begin or expand a business. They often also look for women in need. They try to finance projects that are sustainable and go well with the environment. The club, along with the club assistant, Mr. Dowling brainstorms ways to raise money then carries out fundraisers in school. As they proceed, the club will then identify projects and fund loans. The club also decides how to loan money that has been paid back from loans made earlier. For the people who want to directly help out in the world, this club is just right for you.

Chess Club: (Wednesday, A233)

Are you going to attack your opponent? Are you going to conquer the world? Make a move to chess club. Use your knowledge. In this game you will learn new strategies to attack your opponent. If you are interested in chess then this is the right club for you. Ms. Tummillo and Ms. Kinney are there to guide you. Play chess, win chess, enjoy chess.

Solar Car Club: (Usually Wednesday, E150)

If you are in this club, you will work in teams to build model cars that will be powered by solar panels and auxiliary batteries! Isn’t that cool? But, beware! Cars must meet certain specifications and good craftsmanship as well as some engineering design, of course and documentation. There will be Dr. Per to guide you through. The teams that are successful will be able to build cars that transport cargo (an empty soda can!) over a 20 meter distance. There is competition as well! You will be competing against each other and four teams will be invited to race their cars in the Junior Solar Sprints Regional Competitions in May! Hope you have fun!

Fun with Numbers Club: (Tuesday, A112)

Listen up math folks! Do you want to solve impossible math equations and problems? Well the doors of Fun with Numbers Club is open to everyone! Join this club and solve crazy problems. So get prepared for high school honors math. This club will be held in A112. Your fun with numbers club teacher is Mrs. DiCarlo. Are you ready to learn tough math? Are you ready for the math test?

Debate Club: (Tuesday, A229)

Sorry 6th graders! This club is for 7th and 8th graders only. Now, for 7th and 8th graders, you will be learning the procedure and skills of a formal debate, of course! Ms. Haley will be there to guide beginners through as well. You will be able to select the topics you want to debate about! Hope you have lots of fun and make lots of friends in the club as well!

LEGO Robotics: (Tuesday, E116)

Building-programming-testing and make it realistic. Are you interested in building a robot? Do you love robots and how they work? Well then, join the LEGO robotics club. This club is non-competitive club where you will collaboratively discover robotics technology using LEGO Mindstorms. You will also learn to hire STEM concepts to design models, engineer inventions, and use computer programming to hold a huge range of fun and amazing robotics challenges. You will have Ms. Haynes to help you. This club will be in room E116. This club is open on Tuesdays. So join this club now!

Yoga: (Thursday, D113)

Relax. Take a deep breath. Do you want some exercise? Then join the Yoga Club. This club is a great way to learn and practise the art of yoga. Students of all levels have the freedom to take this opportunity to find control in their body and mind. After school day it’s a great opportunity for you to relax and get a physical workout at the same time. This club will be meeting on Thursdays. You have Ms. Frost to guide you through. Less stressing, more exercising.

Scroll Saw: (Wednesday, B105)

Join your fellow craftsmen in Mr. Cassidy’s classroom to create wood artworks such as a jigsaw puzzle, your favorite sports team logo, and more! You will also learn the features of the scroll saw and other tools along with having fun!

Author Club: (Wednesday, A217)

Do you love writing? Do you love making stories? Then welcome to author club. You of course need to be solitude, but you also need a group to read and share their stories. In author club, you get to write your story and share it. Your partner will also read your story and give you advice. First you look at some ways to start writing your story then you will care for your own works at home. Ms. Parker will guide you through, and also this club will be held in A217. Just read, just write.

Publishing Club: (Wednesday, Media Center)

Do you want to write an article? Do you want others to read it? Then join Publishing Club. In this club you get to write articles, poems, comic strips, drawings, short stories, interviews and editorials for publishing in The Jagazine (Grover’s magazine. It’s published only three times a year) and on The Spotted Folio (Grover’s literary magazine. It’s published every spring.) You will have Mrs. Cohen help you for publishing. This club will meet in the media center. Join Publishing Club now!

Art and Culture Club: (Wednesday, D135)

In this club, each week you will learn a different artistic movement, about the historical background as well as how the culture of the society at the time gave to its finishing. In the club, you will examine works of art from many different artists from various countries. Each week, they will participate in activities related to that period of art. And did you know? Art and Culture Club is the only club where you have three teachers to help you out, Ms. Chiocca, Ms. Compoli, and Ms. Rivero! The concluding project will be a painting the you will create using the style and technique of an artist of your choice. Hope you learn art along with having fun!

Future City Club: (A229)

Do you want to make the world a better place? Well, it’s good if you do. We imagine, research, design, and build cities of the future that show our solution to citywide sustainability problem. The 2017-2018 theme is “The Age-Friendly City.” You will have Ms. Haley and Mrs. Haggag for this club. Your future tells you that you can find solutions in the future.

RC Hobby Car Club: (B102)

Bring your own Hobby Grade RC Car and join your friends in racing and modifying to improve timed laps around a course. You will also hold an initial race and then make plans to improve their car. Mr. Robinson will be there for anyone who needs help. Feel free to partner up with a friend and share a car!

First Lego League: (Tuesdays & Thursdays, E138)

Do you love challenges? Well, join this club because your tasks will be a Challenge which is based on a real-world scientific topic. Each Challenge has three parts. The Robot Game, the Project, and the FLL (First Lego League) Core Values. Students in teams with a coach will participate in the Challenge by programming an autonomous robot to score points on a playing field with a theme (Robot Game). Growing a solution to a problem they have found (Project) all helped by the FLL Core Values. Teams can attend a tournament, hosted by one of our First Lego League partners. Participants are revealed to developing career paths in a chosen Challenge topic. You will have Mr. Henry and Mr. Webb to help you in this club. This club will be held in E138. Flag Football Club: (Gym)

Do you like football? Well, join flag football. In this club, you will work on football drills such as easy exercises and running. You will also learn to throw and catch a football, kick goal fields, punts, how to run routes as well as design and call plays. Wow, so much excercise! You will play against Community Middle School.

Basketball Club (Main and auxiliary gyms)

Have you always devoured playing basketball? Or are you willing to play basketball? Well your dreams came true. The basketball club. You will focus on simple individual and team basketball skills. You will also learn to practise in passing, shooting, defense, catching, and dribbling. You will also learn offensive and defensive plans. You will get an opportunity to participate in regular competitions like knock out, free throws, or mikan drills. You will compete against Community Middle School. Dribble, run, and shoot.

Volleyball Club (Main and auxiliary gyms)

Have you ever played volleyball or willing to play volleyball? Welcome to volleyball club. In this club, basic demonstration will concentrate on all features of the game such as service, passing, digging, attacking, blocking, offensive, defensive playing team. All students are welcome regardless of skill level.
