Education in India is mainly obtained from two sources- the private schools and the government schools.I studied in a private school.
Let me tell you. The schools here are very different from the ones in India.I am gonna sum up some differences here. Even though we got a graduation ceremony after each subdivision of school like elementary, middle and high in India, we studied in the same school from the 1st grade through to the 12th grade.
We didn’t have lockers and we actually didn’t need any because it was not we who went from class to class, but the teachers. Now because the students were in a fixed classroom, there had to be names allotted to them to specify, so we had some subdivisions, for example, the subdivisions for the eighth grade would be 8A,8B, etc.
Yes, there were uniforms and also there was a different schedule for each day. We had all five main subjects each day, which were English, Maths, Science, Social Studies and Hindi (the national language of India). We also had Art, a third language (French,German or Spanish), Computer Programming, and PE. No electronic devices were allowed at school. We also had textbooks, notebooks and assignment booklets for each subject.
All of these things were reversed or changed when I came here. I lost a whole lot of holidays for the Indian festivals but I gained some more too. But still, the idea of the school was the same, to educate and to learn. Just remember this anytime you are gonna shift and you feel all sad or emotional. Although we might think it’s hard to adjust in any new places like India, you are always gonna get used to it, but it does take some time and effort of its own. So, be patient and embrace those new changes with enthusiasm and joy because it’s a brand new start!
