mergerWith Disney starting to help direct the Marvel movie fans have been concerned how it will turn out. Since August 31, 2009 when Disney announced they were merging with Marvel fans already started getting concerned, but when they finally did merge in December 31, 2009 even more questions were being asked. Since Disney has bought Marvel along with other companies it’s earnings have climbed 22% (according to fortune.com). Disney is a very big company, so 22% does a lot for it. Big movies like Guardians of the Galaxy which was nominated for 2 Oscars, and The Avengers, which was nominated for an Oscar as well, helped Disney climb higher, but how high can they go? While Disney is doing quite well many fans are concerned. Disney is known for it’s very mild content. Things like PG-13 content like swearing, darker and intense scenes are what fans want to see. (forbes.com) Will this new change be positive, or will it have a huge impact on both Marvel and Disney, not in a good way. So far both companies have benefited from the change.

But more than that, most fans question why this change might’ve happened. This was a very smart move by Marvel, especially where they were at. Marvel had potential and rights to make a good movie, but they didn’t display it very well. As much as it was thought impossible they weren’t doing so well and needed some help. Marvel’s interest, in fact would’ve disappeared if Disney didn’t come to help them. This was also a very smart move by Disney, seeing that they’ve earned much more popularity thanks to them merging with Marvel. These ideas have helped both companies succeed, but, how have more recent films have been affected by Disney?

Most films by the companies have been doing as well as you would expect, though a competitor’s recent film Batman Versus Superman was criticized a lot. Most critics and fans were disappointed with the outcome, with fans saying the movie ‘never flies’. Theguardian.com says, “For all its overcranked spectacle, I emerged from Batman v Superman in a soporific state; foggy of head, heavy of heart, wondering if it was all just a bad dream.”

But that isn’t the only bad review, there are plenty more bad reviews, plenty of Marvel movies didn’t do as they hoped, but with Batman VS Superman is a more recent film, the reviews really affect the outcome of  DC (or Detective Comics) and Marvel’s future.

Marvel also has a large list of upcoming movies that excite viewers just by hearing it will be make, some include; Guardians Of The Galaxy Volume 2, Spider-Man: Homecoming, Thor: Ragnarok, Avengers: Infinity War – Parts 1 & 2, Black Panther, and Captain Marvel. Most admirers of the films are excited to see these new movies being released and the more money Marvel Disney will gain.

Disney has it’s own list of great upcoming movies, including; Moana, Toy Story 4, Incredibles 2, and many, many more. These new movies are spending as well as making a lot of money, which is guiding Marvel and Disney in a well paid, better direction. And many fans are excited to see what direction these companies will take next.
