On November 4th and 5th, GMS eighth graders and staff took to the stage in the musical version of The Kid Who Ran for President, a story about about Judson Moon who is 12 years old, and running for president of the YOU-nited States! Sound crazy? Keep reading!
Grover teachers, counselors, and administrators joined forces with 28 eighth graders in this musical by Jeremiah Clay Neal, based on the book by New Jersey’s Dan Gutman. The Kid Who Ran for President follows the campaign trail of Judson Moon, played by eighth grader, Luke Kiernan. He may start out by raising money at a lemonade stand in front of his house, but the unlikely candidate gets some media attention that ignites the political voices of children around the nation. The Kid Who Ran for President is a family comedy that also inspires responsibility and courage and asks the question, “Can you imagine a world where YOU were in charge?” Great job to students and faculty. You were a big hit!
