I’m happy to be here with our students and staff for my second year as principal of Thomas R. Grover Middle School. As I remarked last year, as a school community, we must embrace, that we in essence are a family. And the Grover family is a wonderful one we’re all a part of.
Each day we come together, embrace one another, bicker with one another, protect one another, break bread with one another, and of course miss one another from time to time. That being said, as a family we must come together and seek out guidance, suggestions, and advice from one another’s perspective to strengthen our community. That strength comes from within.
As we ring in a New Year, please take this as an opportunity to ask yourself, “Am I doing everything I could do to help improve our community, our family, and my membership within our school?” Ask yourself, “Am I greeting everyone that I encounter? Am I modeling the behaviors I expect others to exhibit? Am I being the best me possible? How could I continue to improve who I am?”
Changes and challenges are inevitable in life. As you commit to being the best you, your reaction and adjustments to the challenges will be much smoother and less taxing. This flexibility will become a source of strength in life and will allow you to propel yourself to destinies unimagined and to soar to heights unknown.
Embrace one another! Lean on one another! Depend on one another! If we do this, we will continue to strengthen one another and our community. I am very proud and thankful for all of my Grover family members. I continue to feel a sense of community and Jag pride each day. We are one voice, one family, one community.
I wish all the members of our Grover family a happy, healthy holiday season and look forward to a wonderful year in 2017.
Be kind to one another…and GO JAGS!!!
